Judith Castro Lucero, an ally in the conservation of Cabo Pulmo

One of Cabo Pulmo National Park's strongest advocates to participate in the 2022 Summit of the Sea of Cortez Forum

Cabo Pulmo is a small community of fishermen from Baja California Sur located 160 kilometers from La Paz and almost 100 from San José del Cabo, which for many years has been the object of desire of foreign investors, attracted by its white sandy beaches, the waters of the Sea of Cortez and, of course, its coral reef.

However, the inhabitants of this small community have united to prevent, so far, large tourism projects that have tried to establish themselves from achieving their goal, and among them are the following Judith Castro Lucero.

The daughter of a fisherman and granddaughter of a Cabo Pulmo pearl diver, Judith was born in La Paz, but spent her first 20 years traveling to her parents' hometown, where her relatives are fishermen.

After that time, Judith left to study and work in different parts of Mexico. After some time, she returned to co-direct "Amigos para la Conservación de Cabo Pulmo A. C"..

Years of work have managed to keep alive the naturalness of this destination and Judith has been and is the authoritative voice in national and international symposiums, where she is considered one of the great fighters of the cause and an example for many other corners of the planet.

Castro Lucero will have a voice in the Summit 2022 Mission Prosperityof Sea of Cortez Forumwhich will be held from November 16 to 18, at Los CabosBaja California Sur.

The conservationist will participate in the forum talk Thriving Communities of the Sea of Cortéstogether with Huber Méndez Camacho, with Gustavo Danemann as moderator.
