In the last four years, the Dr. Fernando León García has been considered one of the 300 leaders in Mexico. I use this leadership to train new leaders through the classroom.
He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Policy Analysis and a Master in Education for International Development from Stanford University, as well as a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from CETYS University.
Since 2010, León García has been Rector of the CETYS University SystemThe institution has achieved international accreditations from the Western Association of School and Colleges (WASC), Accreditation Council for Business School and Program (ACBSP), Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
Prior to assuming the responsibility of CETYS University Chancellor, León García was Chancellor of the International Division of the University of California, where he was the Chancellor of the International Division of CETYS. Seattle City Universitywith presence in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Since 2021, he has held the presidency of the International Association of University Chancellors (IAUP), whose term ends in 2024.
He has served on the Commission on Internationalization and Global Engagement of the American Council on Education, the Council of Presidents of the Association of Governing Boards, Western, Association of Schools and Colleges, Council for Advancement and Support of Education, International Association of Educators, Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, Federación Mexicana de Universidades Privadas, Santander Universidades Mexico and Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration.
He has received honorary doctorates from Vysoka Skola Financni a Spravni (Czech Republic), Dimitrie Cantemir Christian University (Romania) and Caucasus University (Georgia).
León García will participate as moderator in the Human Capital Formation panelof the Summit 2022 Mission Prosperity that organizes Sea of Cortez Forum at Los CabosBaja California Sur, from November 16 to 18.
