Don Gaston Luken Aguilar is a highly respected entrepreneur, philosopher, humanist and environmentalist born in HermosilloSonora, Sonora, who is or has been a member of many business and civic organization boards.
Luken Aguilar is a Certified Public Accountant from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. He has dedicated much of his life to environmental causes.
He is Founder, Honorary Chairman and Board Member of Pronatura A. C.and honorary chairman and director of NOS Sustainable Northwest A. C. Both organizations work for the conservation of biodiversity in the region. Mexico and in the Sea of Cortés regionrespectively.
He is also a former president and advisor to the Consejo Consultivo del Agua A. C., the Federal Government's advisory body on water issues in Mexico; board member of the Colegio de la Frontera Norte, A. C.; board member of the Smart Border Coalition, a binational group dedicated to the operational efficiency of the San Diego-Tijuana border; and former president of the Institute of the Americas, based at the University of California, San Diego.
Luken Aguilar was president of GE Capital Bank Mexico, a subsidiary of General Electric, from 1995 to 2002; Próxima Gas, from 1992 to 2002; Grupo OBSA, from 1990 to 1992, which acquired Serfin Bank to form Grupo Financiero Serfin.
He has also served as president of Consejo Regional Noroeste Operadora de Bolsa S. A.; general manager of Unibanco S. A.; and Centra S. A.
