Prosperity Monitoring Center in the Sea of Cortez

Alejandro Robles GonzalezPresident of NOS Sustainable Northwestpresented an ambitious project called Prosperity Monitoring Center in the Sea of Cortezwhich consists of creating a network of institutions in the region and even internationally to generate socioeconomic and environmental indicators for the region.

"There is too much information that is already processed, today I can get into a satellite and I can know what is happening here in carbon dioxide and the information is there, but there is no one to gather it, to make it available, to analyze it and deliver it to us, so the idea of this is to create this network to be able to monitor this region," he explained in the presentation.

This project is based on the economic model of the donut, which defines that the only safe and just place where the community can prosper is one that as a floor covers the basic needs of humans and as a roof respects the limits of the planet.

SDG Action Manager tool

Foro Mar de Cortés seeks to promote growth in the number of companies committed to the region's sustainability, and to this end signed an agreement with System B Mexico to promote the tool SDG Action Manager.

This tool was conceived by Sistema B and UN Global Compact to provide all types of companies with the opportunity to learn, manage and directly improve their sustainability performance.

"We considered that it was important for companies to be able to identify the Sustainable Development Goals where they can generate a better impact based on their business sector, the number of workers they have or the place where they are located. This tool makes it possible to identify the SDGs," said Javier Herrero, from Sistema B Mexico.

After the presentation of this tool, Sea of Cortez Forum y System B Mexico signed a collaboration agreement.

"The purpose of the Sea of Cortez Forum is to achieve prosperity in the region with the hope that the families of all advance, that the biodiversity of the region is preserved and regenerated, that companies innovate and consolidate, and that the region grows steadily, for all these reasons we have presented (these) four transcendental projects," said Radames Diaz Meza, Executive President of the Sea of Cortez Forum.

These four projects, he stressed, attest to the fact that Sea of Cortez Forum is taking action to fulfill its mission and vision in pursuit of the inclusive prosperity of the region.
