Célida López Cárdenas to represent Sonora tourism at Summit 2022

The general coordinator of the Sonora Tourism Promotion Commission will participate in the Sea of Cortez Forum event to talk about this essential economic activity in the region.

Since September 6, 2021, when he took over the general coordination of the Commission for the Promotion of Tourism of Sonora, Célida López Cárdenas pledged to do everything necessary for his state to be recognized as the new tourism power in the region and in the country.

The Sonora state official has a Law Degree from the University of Sonora, a Master's Degree in Political Science with a specialization in Political Institutions and Processes (PUC), and a Master's Degree in Business Administration (IPADE).

Before assuming the position he holds today in the administration headed by the Governor Alfonso Durazo MontañoCélida López Cárdenas was coordinator of Public Relations for the Baja California Ministry of Health, president of the Sonora State Board of Social Participation and undersecretary of Citizen Participation.

From 2015 to 2018 she was a local congresswoman for District 2, with district seat in Puerto Peñasco, and from 2018 to 2021 she was Municipal President of Hermosillo.

López Cárdenas has acknowledged that the Commission for the Promotion of Tourism has the mission of promoting investments and tourism infrastructure in SonoraThe growth and competitiveness of the sector is key to greater regional development and, with it, the creation of more companies and better jobs in the state.

"As Sonorans, we feel very proud of our state and we should also feel very proud of its wealth and tourism potential. It is time for all of us to work together to attract more regional, national and foreign visitors and tourists," he states in a message on the web page of the agency he directs.

López Cárdenas will be part of the Regional Tourism for Prosperity panelin the Summit 2022 Mission Prosperityof Sea of Cortez Forumwhich will take place from November 16 to 18 at Los CabosBaja California Sur.
