Adriana Tortajada, investment and entrepreneurship expert, at Summit 2022

The pioneer in Mexico and Latin America in the venture capital industry, CEO and managing partner of 1200 VC, will lead the panel The Youth of the Sea of Cortez, at the top event of the Sea of Cortez Forum.

With a track record of 20 years in the venture capital industry, of which it is a pioneer in Mexico and Latin America, Adriana Tortajada Narváez will share his experiences in the Summit 2022 from Sea of Cortez Forum.

The CEO and managing partner of Twelve Hundred (1200 VC) will lead the panel The Youth of the Sea of Cortez: Youth Thinking, Vision and Value Propositionswhich is scheduled for Friday, November 18, at 9:45 am.

She holds a degree in Finance from the University of Guadalajara and a Masters in Public Administration from the Instituto Universitario Ortega y Gasset in Madrid, Spain. She is a member of Class 16 of the Kauffman VC Fund Managers Program, Kauffman Fellows Program at the Center for Venture Education in Palo Alto, California.

From 2003 to 2013, Tortajada Narváez worked from National Finance in the promotion of innovative programs to foster the entrepreneurial capital ecosystem in Mexico, launching vehicles that co-invest public and private resources, compiling the best practices of the industry at an international level, in order to trigger the growth of investment in innovation.

In 2004 it was a pioneer leader in the development of the Entrepreneurs Fund. Conacyt-Nafinsathe first venture capital fund with public resources for science and technology-based entrepreneurs, where he led the negotiation and closing of 44 investments for US$20 million in seed and venture capital throughout Mexico.

From 2013 to 2018, Tortajada Narváez served as general director of the Entrepreneurship and Financing Program, at the. InademThe company has developed 45 new seed investment vehicles and more than 950 high-impact projects.

From 2015 to 2018 he led Venture Capital, Mezzanine and Impact Investing, from the. Fund of Funds (Corporación Mexicana de Inversiones de Capital), an area in charge of early-stage investment strategy for innovative businesses seeking to scale in the region.

In 2018, after assuming the Global Entrepreneurship Directorate at. Santander Group,
integrated Santander Xthe first global entrepreneurship and innovation network to help entrepreneurs connect with the three main resources needed for scaling: talent, customers and funding.

In March 2022, Tortajada Narváez entered into a partnership with Esteban Coppel to launch Twelve Hundred (1200 VC)an early-stage investment platform that invests in fund managers and founders building companies that are shaping the future of humanity.
