Agustin Coppel Luken

Honorary President

Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Coppel, the sixth largest employer in the world's 16th largest economy.

He is the youngest of seven siblings and the second in the family line to lead the company founded by his father, Enrique Coppel Tamayo.

She studied Marketing at TEC de Monterrey, as well as multiple studies in Human Development, Senior Management, Quality and Store Management.

He has a vast entrepreneurial background complementary to the family business, building relevant companies and private equity investments in Mexico, the United States and Europe in the financial services, biotechnology, energy, agriculture, entertainment, retail and marketing sectors. He chairs and/or sits on several Boards of Directors.

Since 2008, he has been invited to the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, where he has had a relevant participation due to his multiple interests and analytical contribution.

In his philanthropic trajectory, Agustín Coppel is one of the most active Mexican businessmen in promoting education, science, culture, ecology and the advancement of society.

In 2017, the international organization Worldfund recognized his work in education with the Leadership to Education Award.

With his wife Isabel, in 1990 he started CIAC, the Isabel and Agustín Coppel Contemporary Art Collection, through which they support artists and museums in the promotion of art and culture in Mexican society.

Coppel Luken is a Trustee of the Contemporary Art Committee of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and a Trustee of the Rufino Tamayo Museum Foundation.

In 2017 he was recognized with the ArcoMadrid A Award for Collecting by the Arco Foundation. In 2011 he received the Mexico Philanthropist of the Year Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In 2013 he received the MontBlanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award from the MontBlanc Foundation. And the José Limón Dance Company of New York awarded him in 2011 with the Promotion of the Arts Award. Agustín Coppel Luken is a social reference.
